Statement of Transparency for Interviewees
-
1. You have the right to choose your medium of recording and sharing.
We find video interviews are most impactufl for people to understand the true narrative of events. However, not everyone is comfortable with sharing on screen and we respect your choice. Based on your personal comfort level, you can choose between:
• A written piece
• An audio interview
• A video interview
-
2. You have the right to choose how much of your story to share.
We recognize that recounting this story may be traumatic for some while empowering for others. Everyone is different, and we recognize this process is also always evolving. You have, at any point, the right to choose how much to share. You might also share something and prefer us not to publish it. This is also your right.
-
3. You have the right to a percentage of profits from publication
This has not been sorted our legally but it is in process. Meaning, we are transparent about our costs for these three facets of our organization and any additional profits are returned to (insert org name):
• Organization (server costs, etc)
• Documentary (production budget)
• Memoir / Book (profits)
-
4.Y ou have the right to retract part of your story or the whole thing, at any time
We recognize that times change and people change. If you choose at some point that you do not want to be featured on our project, you have that right. Please allow for 4-6 weeks for us to either edit your publication or pull it from our archive.
-
5. We are not politically affiliated
We will not use your image and story for political gain. As survivors or victims of Martial Law fighting against a history of oppression, preference is given for those voices to be heard. However, we will gather stories of all those affected, including those of the oppressors. We hope that this way we can cultivate understanding and resilience for all.
